A week and a half ago, as we neared the end of our mission to empty the house of the odds and ends we had accumulated over the years, I took a break to volunteer at the Decatur Wine Festival. Luckily, the day was a gorgeous fall day, perfect for sipping wine, tasting the treats and listening to the music. I had asked to work an entry gate, since I have a lack of coordination. Unfortunately, there were not enough pourers and I ended up being pulled out to pour wine. I gave it the good ol’ college try, and while I probably poured too much, dribbled on fingers and was too ignorant about what I was serving up, the folks were all quite friendly and understanding. A lovely day on the square in Decatur (though not with the family, of course).
