As part of an effort I am making to get out and connect with other people on a more regular basis, I volunteered at the Decatur Book Festival on the square in Decatur this weekend. I worked a total of five hours, spread over two days and in two locations I had never before set foot in.
The event itself is a wonderful affair: books, music, author talks, vendors of all kinds. The booths are spread out radiating from the gazebo in the square, closing many blocks worth of streets. Today, I arrived before the festival had started up and snapped a few shots of the festival while it was still quiet.
